Alderman Wilmert said the City's logo had come up recently. Will revisit vendors since laptops were obtained under a grant. CCA, Notto Technologies, WTI and Wibben Computers have been vendors. Wibben has decided to withdraw.
US Department is through .gov. (web, website). Hostgater (company name) and DNS runs the service and the web. Leap Frog (company name) is the email and they want to consolidate. Will be coordinated with Det. Adams and Alderman Wilmert. He wanted everyone to consider this like a puzzle and they are trying to put it altogether.
Det. Adams said they to move email together with the web it would be cheaper and would be consolidated. He would also be able to set up emails for City employees, officials, etc. without a cost to the City. There are two domain names (cityoflincoln-il.gov and lincolnil.gov).
Those present from the committee were all in agreement to move the email to hostgater.
Need to upgrade server (out of date) and get some hardware. Alderman Wilmert will do some checking.
Alderman Wilmert moved to adjourn the meeting and Alderman Tibbs seconded it. There were three yeas (Alderman Armbrust, Alderman Tibbs and Alderman Wilmert), zero nays, and two absent (Alderman Busby and Alderman Hoinacki).
