Minutes of the City of Lincoln City Council Special Joint Committees' Meeting with the Logan County Board on Monday, January 30, 2017.  The meeting opened at 7:07 p.m.  The meeting was held in the ALMH, Steinfort Conference Room, 200 Stahlhut Drive. 

Roll Call:

City Clerk Mrs. Gehlbach called the roll.  There were eight Aldermen present (Alderman Bauer, Alderman Hoinacki, Alderman Horn, Alderman Mourning Alderman Parrott, Alderman Tibbs and Alderman Welch) and none absent. Also present were Mayor Neitzel, City Clerk Mrs. Gehlbach, City Administrator Mr. Johnson, and Recording Secretary Mrs. Riggs. 

County Board members present were: Mr. Kevin Bateman, Mr. David Blankenship, Mrs. Janet Dahmm, Mr. Robert Farmer, Dr. David Hepler, Mr.Gene Rohlfs, Mr. Charles Ruben, Mr. Bob Sanders, Mr. Scott Schaffenacher, Mr. Adam Schmidt, and Mrs. Annette Welch.

Mayor Neitzel led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Presentation by GPEDC – 2016 Annual Report

Ms. Jennifer Daly said they currently have 15 manufacturers with none being from Logan County. There are 79 investors, 60% money support work with private companies, and 300 volunteers on committees, growing business and talent, and strengthen communities. 

Sally Hanley gave a brief overview of the Logan County 2016 Report which included 6 Logan County business visits, 357 total employees represented in Logan County, greatest achievements are: 2 planned expansions, $5.2M estimated expansion investment, and an estimated 4 new jobs. 

Nathan Davis has been doing EDC community visits, working with Lincoln and Mr. Pulaski right now, and looking at broadband internet.

Mr. Clint Pollock discussed the internet issues and the need to bring in technology and get them up to date.

Jennifer Daly said they did the first 8th grade manufacturing expo.  There were 12 high school students who attended the manufacturing tours.

The 5th Street Project needs to get their CEDS project paperwork in by April 7, 2017.

Alderman Tibbs moved to adjourn the meeting and Alderman Horn seconded the motion.  It was unanimously approved.
