Lincoln, Illinois Public Hearing December 22, 2016

The  City  of  Lincoln  Public  Hearing  met  m  the  Council  Chambers  on  Thursday, December 22, 2016.

There were eight Aldermen present (Alderman Bauer, Alderman Hoinacki, Alderman Hom, Alderman Mourning, Alderman Neitzel, Alderman Parrott, Alderman Tibbs, and Alderman Welch) and none absent. Also present was Fire Chief Miller. Also present were Mayor Neitzel, City Treasurer Mr. Conzo, City Clerk Mrs. Gehlbach, and Recording Secretary Mrs. Riggs.

Mayor Neitzel  called  the meeting to order  at 7:00 p.m. on the proposed  Tax  Levy Ordinance for Tax Year 2016.

Public Participation

Mrs. Wanda Rohlfs was present to discuss the Tax Levy and the reduction.  She felt the City could go for the reduction and that there were reductions in the City budget.

Mayor Neitzel  asked  if there  was  anyone present  that  wanted  to make  any public comment.

Ms. Eileen Nolan was present and said she is new to town. They bought a new construction home and their taxes are $7,400.00 which is $1,600.00 more than the house they owned in Bloomington.

Mr. Kevin Bateman said he was more upset about where the pension money was coming from.

Mr. Seth Goodman was present to discuss the fact that they lose buyers because the cost of the taxes in Lincoln.

There was no one else present who wanted to make any public comment about the proposed Tax Levy Ordinance for Tax Year 2016.

Mayor Neitzel closed the Public Hearing. The hearing was closed at 7:10 p.m.
