“NOTICE OF TESTING”

Notice is hereby given that testing for the City of Lincoln will be held on Saturday, March 21 , 2015 at Lincoln College, 300 Keokuk Street, McKinstry Library Lecture Hall, Lincoln, Lincoln, Illinois. A written test will be given for the position of Laborer at 9:30 a.m. Official documents verifying the meeting of various requirements may be required at a later date for those passing the written exam.

Application packets are available at the City Clerk’s Office, 700 Broadway St., Lincoln, IL (217) 735-2815 for this position. Application packets must be completed prior to the test and brought to the testing facility at the time of testing. There is no fee for the exam.

All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to pass appropriate background checks, and be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Applicants hired by the City must live within or relocate within 10 miles of the City limits of the City of Lincoln after the starting date and be a citizen of the United States of America of at least 18 years of age, and have or obtain a Type C-CDL Illinois Driver’s License.

U.S. Military Service Veterans may be eligible for Veteran’s Preference (Points). To qualify, persons must be engaged in the active military or naval service of the United States for a period of at least one year and who were engaged in such military or naval service who are now or may hereafter be on inactive or reserve duty in such military or naval service. Candidates who are eligible for must make a request in writing within 10 days after the posting of the temporary eligibility list and submit documentation with for DD214/215 or NGB22. Documentation may be brought to the City Clerk at the City Hall no later than 10 days from the posting of the temporary eligibility list. Applicants with a passing grade of 70 percent or above on the test and qualify will be given Veteran’s points.

Persons applying must bring a valid Illinois Driver’s License to the test facility. Applicants hired by the City may be required to meet other qualifications as condition of employment. The City of Lincoln is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
